During a recent Leisure and Amenities Committee meeting, members heard: ‘In order to secure planning approval for the next phase of the development of this facility, which is the Council’s prime tourist amenity, it has been necessary to commission archaeological work. ‘It is important that matters are progressed as necessary permissions must be extant in order to continue to complete for external funding packages.’
