He had pleaded guilty to breaching a non molestation order on April 6, this case and sentencing had been adjourned so that a pre-sentence report could be obtained.

The court heard that police went to Jervis Street in Portadown after the injured party claimed that her ex-partner had breached a non molestation order.

While police were there Davidson returned to the house.

He said: “She entrapped me.”

Mr Brendan Hagan, representing the defendant, said Davidson had been in a relationship with the injured party for eight years.

He explained that the defendant had secured a flat in Portadown and the couple were calling one and another on a daily basis.

Mr Hagan added that the relationship was sometimes fractious when Davidson had taken too much alcohol and the injured party would tell him not to come round to the house.
