Cookstown drink driver ‘foolishly’ tempted by hamburger
Martin Boyle, 49, of Gortagammon Road, Tullyhogue was charged with driving with excess alcohol in breath following an incident on October 22.
A court heard how police were called to a report of a road traffic accident at Fountain Road. They spoke to the defendant whose eyes were glazed and conducted a roadside breath test which he failed. He was taken to the station were a further sample revealed 44mg/100ml of breath.

Hide AdA defence solicitor for Mr Boyle said his client had consumed a few drinks at home and ‘foolishly’ decided to drive to get a hamburger thinking he was OK to drive. District Judge John Meehan fined him £265 and disqualified him for 12 months.
