Thirty-one-year-old Eglinton native David Pollock says he can’t wait to set sail through the Southern Ocean and Tasman Sea on Leg 4 of the Clipper 2015-16 Round the World Yacht Race down under.

David is one of a number of local people who has secured the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sail the world’s seas as part of the Derry City and Strabane District’s Council’s Clipper Race Bursary Scheme.

Speaking ahead of his departure on Tuesday, December 1, he said: “I am not nervous about it all. I really enjoy being at sea and have been lucky enough not to suffer from any sea sickness.
