“These all support the commitment by Council to improve services for the city and region. For example the theme of Leadership supports the Council’s ability to influence the transformation of public services locally as well as supporting the consolidation of the city’s position as a regional capital of the north west. Other themes identify priorities and actions to support service delivery in relation to skills, finance and promoting excellence and innovation”.
Mayor Alderman Maurice Devenney said: “In recent years the Council has made significant progress in responding to the needs of the citizens and communities through the Strategy Board and in contributing to the development of the Regeneration Plan and in enhancing the quality of services and facilities.
“In the years ahead, Derry City Council will face many new challenges and opportunities and there is much to look forward to.
