Lord Ashcroft, the renowned philanthropist and war historian, has sent a message of support to the Robert Quigg VC Commemoration Society.

The Society is raising money to erect a bronze sculpture to the Bushmills war hero, Robert Quigg VC. Lord Ashcroft has a special interest in the Victoria Cross and has the largest collection of them in the world.

The Lord Ashcroft Gallery at the Imperial War Museum, London has been attracting huge audiences since it opened in November 2010. On display are gallantry medals from his personal collection and the Imperial War Museum. Visitors have the opportunity to see the largest assembly of Victoria Crosses and George Crosses ever to be displayed in public. It is a humbling experience to read the stories of the men and women who were awarded these medals for their acts of outstanding courage.
