Masterplan bid for Braid
Councillors agreed at their May meeting that three sites from each of the predecessor council areas be put forward for the Masterplan which would see them developed to increase visitor footfall.
In Ballymena they are - Slemish visitor facilities, Broughshane visitor facilities and Broughshane signage/heritage trail.

Hide AdCouncillors approved the submissions, on the proposal of Cllr Geraldine Mulvenna, at a cost of £5,000 for up to three locations.
In her report to last week’s meeting, Chief Executive Anne Donaghy said it was ‘critical’ that Council be involved in the strategy, which is being led by Tourism NI, in order to access future funding opportunities for those areas but pointed out that submission to the Masterplan did not guarantee success.
