NI Gun Club members form guard of honour at funeral

Kenneth, affectionately known as Pringle, passed away on Thursday, May 4 after a short illness. He was a father-of-one who was married to BrendaPringle and was a highly respected member of the community. After he left Banbridge Academy he worked in Lotus and Delta Down Shoes before going to BT as an engineer. Pringle had an outgoing way of life and loved nothing more than to to romp over the countryside with his dogs. He joined the clay pigeon gun club and represented Ireland. He loved a bit of chat and socialising with all his friends but his main interest was centred around his home and family. He was a member of Bannside Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife Brenda, daughter Wendy and all the family circle. The funeral took place privately from his home for a service in Bannside Presbyterian Church and as the cortège stopped at the front of the church members of the NI Gun Club formed a ‘guard of honour’. The hymns ‘Great Is Thy Faithfulness’ and ‘How Great Thou Art’ were sung. Mr Alastair Mitchell presided at the organ. The Rev Dr Mark Gray officiated and paid tribute to Pringle’s life. The committal took place afterwards in the New Cemetery. Family flowers were placed on the grave and donations in lieu of flowers are being sent to William Bell and Co, Funeral Directors, 23 Kenlis Street, Banbridge, BT32 3LR for The Southern Area Hospice and Friends of the Cancer Centre NI). Cheques made payable to William Bell and Co, who conducted the funeral.
