‘No chance of flags protocol in Castledawson’ say Protestant Coalition
The Protestant Coalition have accused Sinn Fein of “holding the children of Castledawson to ransom” by insisting on a flags protocol in return for putting up Christmas lights.
In a new twist to the row, the loyalist group claimed today that Magherafelt District Council’s stance had “stirred tensions” in the village and there was no chance of a flags protocol.
“This attempt to blackmail the Castledawson Community Group over something which they have no control is obfuscation of the worst kind,” the Coalition said in a statement.
