Video: Search to find Mid Ulster’s Business of the Year 2015
One of two new initiatives this year, the overall winner will be chosen on the night by the guests in attendance.
On Thursday afternoon Councillor Linda Dillon, Chairperson of the Mid Ulster Council (Associated sponsors of the Mid Ulster Business Awards) officially launched the 2015 event at the Burnavon Arts and Culture Centre in Cookstown. Also in attendance were Agriculture Minister Michelle O’Neilll and Mid Ulster MP Francie Molloy.

Hide AdThey were joined by a selection of local business representatives and the category sponsors for the 14 awards to be presented on the big night.
Peter Bayne, Deputy Group Editor North West Division, reflected on the success of the event of the last four years and outlined the two new initiatives for 2015.
“It seems a lifetime ago since our inaugural event back in 2010. Since then we have honoured over 50 local business entrepreneurs, from the corner chippy to the world leaders in their respective trades.
“On Friday, November 27th, we will once again gather in the Glenavon House Hotel in Cookstown, to pay homage to the business class of 2015.

Hide Ad“A total of 14 awards will be handed out on the night and this year we welcome two new initiatives.
“I’m delighted to announce that the 2015 showpiece will see one business walk away with the prestigious title of ‘Mid Ulster Business of the Year’, generously sponsored by Danske Bank.
“Meanwhile, South West College Innotect Centre are offering an unique prize for the winner of the SME Business of the Year ; a consultancy package which will include concept development; efficiency saving ideas; product development; marketing strategy and much more.
“These awards would not be possible without the support of our sponsors many returning for their fifth consecutive year.”

Each year patrons on the night donate generously to a chosen charity or organisation. Charis and Buddy Bear just two to benefit in recent years.
This year the chosen beneficiary will be Lough Neagh Rescue service.
Entry forms are now available and can be collected from the Mid Ulster Mail office in Cookstown.
