South African Homani leads the way for Templepatrick
Belfast International Sports Club bowlers were dispatched with aplomb to all parts of the ground at Hollinger Park on Saturday, in a pre-season friendly that the home side won by the massive margin of 133 runs.
Homani’s 102 not out was the corner stone of Templepatrick’s 201 for 4 in 35 overs, with Arthur Campbell 29 and James Jackson 19 also making useful contributions.

Hide AdIn reply the visitors were bundled out for only 68, with Homani boosting his all-rounder credentials with a haul of 3 wickets.
Rhydian Davies claimed a couple of scalps as did Under 15s leg spinner Michael Stewart and new recruit from Carrickfergus, Jason McAuley, while Jordi Fettis took the other wicket.
After leading Templepatrick in to the Senior League Section 1 for the first time, Richard Greer will captain the side for a fourth season.
“We have most of last season’s regulars back, but Chris Busby, having moved to a new job, will not always be available,” said Richard.

Hide Ad“We have recruited bowler Jason McAuley from Carrickfergus, and we will be hoping that runs and wickets by our new South African all-rounder, Bob Homani (pictured), will enhance our reputation in Senior 1 in the months ahead, after having established ourselves in our first season at the higher level,” he added.
Templepatrick Firsts have no game this weekend, but they are due to commence their league programme on May 3.
Meanwhile, Academy completed their preparations for the new season with another friendly win in Gilford.
Millpark were the victims on their own patch, where they were beaten by 61 runs, after being set a target of 186.

Hide AdDaniel McFadden top scored with 55 not out, followed by Andre Halbert 38, Matthew Palmer 27 and Chris Halliday 22 not out, as the Hydepark lads posted 185 for 4 in their 30 overs.
In reply Millpark were restricted to 124 all out. Darrell Martin was tops in the bowling department with three wickets.
The opening fixture in the new season on Saturday involves a trip to Armagh in search of Senior League Section 2 points.
