McConnell admits club needs to ‘build again’
“I thought our defending and work rate deserved a point, but we never looked like scoring, and we’re not going to win matches if you don’t score,” he told the Times.
“We need to get players in, but I’m not going to go down the route of bringing them in from out of town. I think that’s the wrong way to go long-term. Wellington always had a good camaraderie and team spirit, we’re just in that position where we need to build the club again. But this season, with only nine matches left, it’s practically impossible for us now.”
