Narrow loss to the champions
The locals put on a spirited performance and there was very little to choose between the two teams in the first half - in fact Banbridge were very unlucky not to score when Dylan Martin saw his close range shot bounce off the crossbar with the keeper well beaten.
Glentoran had a couple of good chances but keeper William Maxwell dealt with them both efficiently.

Hide AdThe second half was very even again apart from a short period in the middle when Glentoran exerted some sustained pressure on the Banbridge defence - resulting in the only goal of the game when the Glentoran broke through and hit a hard low shot past the keeper.
The Glens were denied any further goals by first class goalkeeping from William Maxwell as he completed a great season between the sticks.
David Gray and Josh Cargin worked hard up front but just couldn’t get any clear cut chances.
Banbridge can look back on a decent season finishing third in the league and beaten Shield finalists in what proved their most successful season to date.
