South started with some great play in midfield from Rachel Sullivan and Alana Richardson getting rewarded with an early short corner. Unfortunately, the chance was missed and Parkview responded in quick pursuit of the South goals. Wendy Li, in great form at the back, was soon able to mop up a loose ball and help the South midfield begin another attack. Chloe Wilson, combining well with Rachel in midfield, again helped South move forward with Danielle Heasley making a great effort down the right but the Parkview defence proved too strong on this occasion and blocked the shot from left forward Laura McConnell, who was hoping to add to her impressive goal tally so far this season. Before half-time, Parkview made another attempt on goal but the South defence again proved too strong with Zara Carson and Alison Marsden keeping them at bay. At the half-time whistle, South were disappointed not to have had anything to show for their efforts but went out with determined in the second half, hoping to get the reward off three league points. Parkview, however, must have had a similar team talk at half-time and they came out all guns blazing. After some strong play from the Parkview midfield, the visitors carved out two goals in quick succession, leaving the young South team stunned and with plenty of work to do to salvage anything from the game. However, the hosts responded well with Rachel Sullivan making a perfect pass to Laura in front of the net but her shot was saved. Another short corner was won but again a great shot from Elaine Aiken just missed the post. Wendy Li also had another chance and unfortunately for the hosts missed out but managed to get back to defend to ensure Parkview had no more chances on goal. Although disappointed, the South ladies were pleased with their good attacking play and know they just need to find a way to convert it into goals which they will hope to do away to Ballynahinch next week.
